In Sepedi, Lefa means inheritance — a fitting reflection of Osaze's musical journey. Music became part of his life at the age of six when his brother first placed his hands on a keyboard. Without owning one, he learned wherever he could, while the rhythms of Pedi culture, church music and traditional drumming shaped his musical identity. Singing followed naturally before his brother introduced him to music production, where he began developing a distinctive sound that blends tribal rhythms with contemporary electronic music. His studies at the Soul Candi Institute refined his craft and confirmed that music was not simply a passion, but an inheritance rooted in family, culture and purpose.

Lefa begins with Cow Song, the first of three singles that will introduce the project before the release of the complete EP. For this opening chapter, Osaze reinterprets one of Madala Kunene's signature compositions, featuring the unmistakable vocals of Lungiswa Plaatjies. Respecting the song's deep African roots, he transforms its hypnotic guitar melodies and organic rhythms into a sophisticated Afro House journey. Mixed and mastered by Kinn Timo, the production reflects Osaze's growing reputation as one of South Africa's most exciting Afro House producers. With collaborations that include Black Motion, Mörda, Dr Moruti, Bucie, Nokwazi, Nadia Nakai, Bongi Silinda and Mazet SA, Lefa marks the beginning of a project that honours musical inheritance while looking confidently to the future.
