SA ROY & THE FOREST JAM BAND were born out of a 2015 gathering with local and international musicians in Madagascar. For their 2017 tour Malagasy SA ROY TRIO collaborated with South African/Swiss FOREST JAM BAND and for some concerts with MADALA KUNENE.

Tulear based Acapella trio’s leader Soaraza Patrice Thomas is a talented singer/song writer, dancer and multi instrumentalist. Ando Pra, the second voice in the trio has earned his nickname Micheal Jackson for his great voice and dance routine. Eugene Sambeto always stuns the audience with his baritone voice.

The trio gained international visibility after joining the Forest Jam Madagascar residencies in 2015 performing with visiting artists such as Matthias Abächerli, Glauco Cataldo, Fabio Meier and Naima Grueth  during the 2015 Antananarivo and Diego Suarez sessions.

Following their Madagascar debut, Sa-Roy collaborated again with the Forest Jam Band in 2017 this time from a base in Durban South Africa and joined by Matthias Abächerli, Fabio Meier, and Gontse Makhene, joined at times by Madala Kunene. Their debut album Pelakolo told the story of three young men from the Androy region of southern Madagascar. Written by Soaraza Patrick Thomas, the songs explored friendship, hardship, corruption, climate change, and resilience.
Recorded in Tulear Madagascar with Matthias and finished in Durban, the album features contributions from Fabio Meier, Lerato Lichaba, Zoe Molelekwa, Mabi Thobejane, Gontse Makhene, and Madala Kunene. Produced by Matthias Abächerli and executive-produced by Robert Trunz. The 2017 SADC tour took the band through South Africa, Zimbabwe and Mozambique , spreading the spirit of collaboration first forged in 2015.

M2KR released several remixes of songs like Mozika or Zara Mira from the Pelakolo album. Remixed by Dr Feel, Mario Cee and Dazz-B MusiQ.
