Kinn Timo
Kinn Timo (Nkululeko Timothy Nkosi) is a South African music producer and sound designer working at the intersection of African musical heritage and contemporary electronic production.
His sound is rooted in a clear intention — to use modern production tools as a means of preserving and extending African musical identity rather than erasing it. That thread runs through everything he makes, from original compositions to reimaginings of archival material.
Beyond production, his practice spans recording, mixing, mastering, music direction, composition, arrangement, and sound design. His work consistently draws from South African musical history, treating heritage not as a limitation but as source material for something new. Music that carries memory forward.
His current work includes Cow Song, a collaboration with Osaze and SizKay, and uNembeza, his contemporary interpretation of Busi Mhlongo's music. Both releases reflect his ongoing approach to placing South African musical heritage in contemporary electronic contexts while allowing the original spirit of the music to remain present.
Kinn Timo's work focuses on remixing and recontextualising archival South African recordings for contemporary dancefloors and narrative projects, creating music that connects generations without being confined by the past.
