A regular performer at the National Arts Festival in the University City of Grahamstown, Madala Kunene returned in 2018 with Mabi Gabriel Thobejane to celebrate their 50th Anniversary of sharing a stage. They were joined by members of the FOREST JAM band with Paki Peloeole Kgosietsile on drums, Lerato Lichaba on electric guitar and Matthias Abaecherli on bass.
