The Afro-Jazz renaissance movement in the 90’s was led by the late composer and piano genius – Moses Taiwa Molelekwa. For this 2023 EP release of Remixes we have chosen tracks from his ground breaking album Genes & Spirit. With Episode 1 we are proud to introduce South African producers, remixers and DJ’s.

DEEPER KINGS chose to remix Forest Jam’s cover version of Wa Mpona Maputo with lyrics by Mozambican singer Chico Antonio, arrangements by Jul Dillier and vocals by Cyril Michel. Featuring Moses’ son Zoe Molelekwa on additional keyboard.

COOL AFFAIR preferred the original version of Wa Mpona.

ECHO DEEP already attracted attention with Kwaze Kwangcono and RICH AKOUSTIC delivers a chilled jazzy remix.
